We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.Wells Fargo Compliance is the company??s compliance independent risk management function, providing company-wide leadership, standards, support, and independent oversight to ensure that all front-line business groups abide by applicable laws, rules, regulations and regulatory guidance (regulatory requirements), meet compliance responsibilities, and manage compliance risks. Wells Fargo Compliance credibly challenges management decisions, business processes and activities, and evaluates and assesses adherence to applicable regulatory requirements. It provides appropriate analysis, reporting, and escalation to senior management and the Board of Directors, sets minimum standards for the company, and gives advice, guidance, and support for compliance risk management activities across the enterprise.This is an opportunity to join the Wholesale Compliance Governance Team. The organization is part of Compliance and is charged with the general oversight of Wholesale??s testing and review program with focus on the control environment and preparation for various types of planned and unplanned reviews and investigations. It partners with various groups and line of business risk and compliance functions to perform its oversight function effectively. It also partners with the SHRP Administration team in maintenance of the SHRP risk inventory in accordance with Wells Fargo Compliance Program Policy and conducts ongoing monitoring for accuracy and completeness reflective of existing control environment. This Compliance Consultant 4 position will report to the Audit Liaison Manager within Wholesale Compliance and will focus on supporting management and the lines of business in responding effectively to internal and external audits and reviews. He/she will be responsible for coordinating execution of the audit and review processes through implementation of standard practices to monitor, track and report recommendations through the full audit cycle including timely documentation and resolution of identified issues, corrective actions identified for remediation, and issue closeout, as well as the determination of systemic issues. As part of the oversight process, the Audit Liaison Group provides objective analysis, coordinates with the line of business to develop strategy for preparation and response to ongoing reviews. The primary outcome of the liaison work is to prepare for, analyze, and document key work stream requirements and outcomes of the audit process contributing to sound management and governance of compliance oversite and risk mitigation. He/she will focus on cross business analysis of the control environment, quality of data, and documentation of such to ensure adherence to required standards in the areas of major requirement applicability, adequate internal control identification and implementation, and risk mitigation through remediation activities for identified issues.Developing, implementing and monitoring risk-based compliance programs to assure compliance with federal, state, agency, legal and regulatory requirements and provide oversight to a compliance function. Working with complex business units and providing compliance risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with all risk levels to identify and mitigate regulatory risk in business activities. Facilitating of pre-audit activities, coordination with multiple organizational levels to obtain credible challenge and feedback, and coordination of documentation supporting the life-cycle of the audit process in conjunction with the line of business and audit team representatives. Gaining fluency and understanding of key risk issues across Wholesale and ensuring appropriate knowledge of applicability as well as fostering alignment across risk functions, business units, regions, and products to ensure comprehensive understanding of key risks Conducting ongoing quality assurance and/or quality control of data reflecting control environment for accuracy, currency, and applicability Developing and analyzing compliance metrics where appropriate to review for audit outcomes, control effectiveness, and ongoing monitoring of regulatory environment. Assisting with reporting/communication efforts of project or periodic compliance performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies as required.Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit??s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
