The Program Associate has primary responsibility for providing services that support the needs of individuals with ASD and their families and/or caregivers. These services will include, but are not limited to: (1) recreational programming structured to provide respite for families and caregivers; (2) autism awareness education, coping skills training and/or behavioral modification training for parents and siblings; (3) navigational components to help individuals and families access services in the community, and access eligibility for services under the auspices of OPWDD and other public agencies; and (4) other service components that support the needs of individuals and families or others involved in an individual's care and services. Practices and promotes MonteExcellence Standards (R-E-S-P-E-C-T). Incumbent will perform other duties as assigned. Education and Requirements: PhD required. Three years experiencerequired. Experience providing clinical services to children with ASDs and their families. Degree in a Clinical Field which may include Special Education, Psychology, School/Public Administration, Social Work, Medicine, Nursing, Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Speech and Hearing, or other field related to the duties and responsibilities of the position. -Demonstrated effectiveness in clinical service provision in a multi-purpose center for persons with disabilities which includes clinical services and activities -Demonstrated leadership in developmental disabilities, consumer/family empowerment, and community building that supports full inclusion of individuals with disabilities -Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to disability issues for all age groups, state service delivery systems for individuals with disabilities, and familiarity with the UCEDD network's function and mission -Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. -Ability to operate independently in the field using telecommunications and computer access to a database. -Effectively manages own time and resources. -Ability to work collaboratively with children, adolescents and their families to maximize self-determination. -Ability to engage and work collaboratively with medical, behavioral health, specialty, educational and social service providers to support consumer's functioning. -Working knowledge of children's system of care, community based resources and public benefits. -Ability to provide and experience providing culturally sensitive community based services to children, adolescents and families. -Fluency in Spanish preferred. -Clinical experienceworking with patients with autism.
