Job Duties:

Medical/Surgical

-Perform duties in the specialties of Med-Surg/Telemetry as prescribed by the regulation and/or policy.

-Assume the responsibilities of Charge Nurse if no other Registered Nurse is present, or if assigned those duties by the shift supervisor or other authorized individual.

-Perform team leading duties to include making patient care assignments for paraprofessionals and being responsible for care provided.

-Obtain patient history, pertinent family history, and advance medical directive information.

-Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, progress, assists physicians during treatments & examinations, administers medication, administers prescribed treatments, completes admissions & discharges, and promotes convalesce and rehabilitation

-Responsible for monitoring and interpretation of collected data by the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or LPN and unlicensed assisted personnel; and informing the medical staff as appropriate

Post Anesthesia Care Unit

-Perform duties in the specialties of PACU/SDS as prescribed by the regulation and/or policy.

-Assume the responsibilities of Charge Nurse if no other Registered Nurse is present, or if assigned those duties by the shift supervisor or other authorized individual.

-Perform pre-operative preparation, post-operative recovery and discharge within established criteria. Be familiar with IV Access, phlebotomy, and lab specimen collection.

-Knowledge and skill sufficient to interpret EKG patterns regarding life-threatening arrhythmias. Independently determines and implements proper emergency measures after identifying and interpreting life-threatening conditions for adults and children.

-Knowledgeable of the necessary actions to take to immediately defibrillate the patient who exhibits life-threatening dysrhythmias.

Performs pulmonary ventilation treatments and administers a variety of respiratory therapy treatments prescribed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of the following:

-Graduated from a school of Professional nursing, approved by a legally designated

Experience: Candidates must have the following experience:

Medical/Surgical

-Minimum two (2) years of experience in the last three (3) years in Hospital setting

Post Anesthesia Care Unit

-Minimum two (2) years of experience in the last three (3) years in Hospital setting

Security:

-National Background Investigation

-Must be authorized to work in the US

-Must have reliable transportation to and from work site

License/Certification and Training:

-Current registration as Registered Professional Nurse

-Current and Unrestricted Registered Nurse license practice nursing in at least one of the 50 states of the United states, District of Columbia, or territory of Puerto Rico.

-Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association

-Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association

-Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) from American Heart Association

Schedule:

-12-hour shifts, Days, Nights, Weekends, and Holidays
