In a developmental capacity, receives training and close supervision in the performance of duties and responsibilities as set forth in the position guide for the CYS Administrative Support Assistant, NF-0303-03. PD#22669.
Completes a prescribed agenda of formal/informal classroom and on-the-job training and self-development as set forth in the individual Training Development Plan.
At the NF-03 level: Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in courteous and professional manner. Answers telephones, ascertains nature of call, and directs caller to appropriate staff.
At the NF-03 level: Provides administrative support including mail preparation, copying, distribution, correspondence, memorandums, briefings, Daily Activity Reports, and other requirements for day-to-day operations.
At the NF-03 level: Maintains records, files, statistical data, and suspense system. Helps prepare requests for personnel action and tracks background suitability checks. Assists in maintaining leave and time and attendance records.
At the NF-03 level: Monitors office inventory and prepares invoices, supply, and equipment requests. Prepares invoices and maintains records and assists with key control.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position to on and off post locations.

Must be willing to accept varying and/or rotating shifts to include hours between 0600-1800 with possible nights, weekends, holidays and split shifts as required

Successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required
AT THE NF-02 LEVEL: 1. Experience working in an office setting which demonstrates skill in applying administrative and clerical procedures; customer service concepts; and communication techniques in a professional environment. 2. Experience using office automation to prepare documents, manage files, and maintain records. 3. Must have experience in using applications such as Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook). This experience/knowledge listed above must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.
AT THE NF-03 LEVEL: 1. Experience working in a professional office setting which required administrative and clerical skill in managing filing systems and maintaining documents, such as attendance records and official correspondence. 2. Must possess experience demonstrating customer service and business communication skills. 3. Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of correct grammar and composition techniques needed to accurately prepare written material from a variety of sources. 4. Must possess demonstrated proficiency in using computers for various applications to include Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Windows, Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook). 5. Experience entering and maintaining information into automated databases. 6. At least 1 year experience equivalent to the next lower grade level NF-02.
HIGHLY PREFERRED NF-03 : In addition to the above, highly preferred candidates will: 1. Possess experience utilizing automated systems for childcare operations
