Under the clinical supervision of the program physician and the overall supervision of the Program Administrator, an employee in this position performs nursing services which include basic first aid, medication administration, and evaluation of nursing care needs. This individual is expected to use independent judgment when dealing with emergency medical situations.
This position is Part Time and benefit eligible. The hours for the position are Monday - Friday, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm (20 hours / week)
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Assesses all medical emergencies; contacts emergency medical services when needed.
Carries out treatment plans as prescribed; Pours and administers medication as prescribed.
Maintains a Hepatitis B register; Maintains a tuberculosis register.
Assists in maintaining and updating related medical charts.
Provides basics first aid, assesses need for further treatment, and makes referrals as necessary.
As required, conducts tuberculosis testing or administers Hepatitis B vaccination.*
Clinically supervises AMAP-certified staff in the performance of nursing tasks and activities.
Completes annual medication administration assessments as required.
Valid NYS Registered Nurse License
Valid NYS Driver's License
